We're not perfect. But we're trying to be. And there isn't anything wrong with that.
God created us in His image, which we all know is the best, the greatest, the infinite
way of being. We will, can, should rest in Him about everything. But we all know, too,
that isn't always our first decision.
But whether you're already in college, on summer break, just graduated and entering
into College for the first time, took a break and now going back to College, just going
for the first time ever since you got your GED and wanted to add College. . . make a
decision to rest in God.
His love is here for us.
Personally, I know I didn't always do this when I begin. I was always so scared because
I felt dumb. I didn't know how I was accepted into a University. I was always concerned with
what grades will impress those I left behind when I traveled out of my home state for school;
after high school. But once I got there. I was drowning in life. I had so much baggage from
high school I hadn't resolved. So my grades weren't anything to boast over. Once again I didn't
come through for myself. So the next semester I barely went to class. I was trying to swim in
oceans that were way too big for me. I didn't have anyone I could really depend on although
there were people trying to help me stay afloat.
So after that first year, I dropped out. I used the reason of family problems from keeping me
from going back. Real deal is I didn't have money to return to out of state college. I could have
went to a two year junior college but I didn't think that was good enough. My family did have issues
so I was allowing those issues that have been there for years hold me back.
Fast forward, I went back to college, a junior college and recently graduated. But I only was able to
accomplish that because of God. When I decided it was time to focus on God because I didn't trust
anyone else. . . I knew school was on the list of things to finish. Although I am still not finished. I know
that I completed this level of college with God.
You all who are in school now (high school|college) you're so blessed! Because you have a stronger
foundation with God now. Use that! He wants you to use that! Establish you're amazing relationship
with Him NOW! This is the time to do it. Because it become apart of your life, as you breathe. Then
you won't have to feel like you're putting anything over Him. You want straight A's? Go to God, you're
allowed to. It is your right to ask Him for that. But ask Him to prepare you. To help you do the work.
To put the right people who He knows will support you, get in the field with you, and verbal share
with you what you need to succeed and be great.
Enjoy it too! There are going to be tons of distractions. So do not beat yourself up. Remain real with God.
Keep your prayer life alive, find worship groups, post it of scriptures, find and recite them and apply them to your life. Wake
up and talk with God, while you're showering, while you're walking to campus or from the library. . . pray before test. . . study first tho!
Touch the walls of the classroom and say a prayer to keep the enemy out. . . use your resources!
Let Him know when you feel like you're struggling. And now that we have this community be open with us
we'll help. I really am rooting for all you seeds to prosper! College is so exciting! I was just talking to one of
my friends and we were saying how much we miss dorm life. . . although we're both still studying. We commute
to our campus. . . so that's another story.
But put God first. Wake up with God. Go to sleep with God. Walk with Him. Be human. . .because that's what we are.
Pressure will come. But there is always a way out to take a break, regroup. . . God's yoke is easy! I am praying for
all of us to be able to use of weapon of God's word to protect our lives. The enemy is real so of course he'll come
for us. . . But we're winning always so of course he wants to trip us up. But he can not touch us!
Our lives are in God's hand. The best place we could possibly have.
And HE wants us to enjoy this level.
peacefully,
Cia
